JOURNEY PLANNING

Journey planning and route options

My Little Taxi offers the usual Tapah route and less-winding alternatives for your journey from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands. The most suitable road depends on your travel date, accommodation location and any photo stops you would like to include.

Standard route via Tapah

RM550 per private group

  • Distance: approximately 209 km
  • Normal journey time: 3.5 to 4 hours
  • Route: highway to Tapah, then the winding hill road towards Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Brinchang
  • Photo stops: Lata Iskandar Waterfall and Bharat Tea Plantation can be included at no extra transfer charge when arranged in advance

Less-winding alternatives

RM600 per private group

  • Road options: Sungai Koyan or Simpang Pulai
  • Journey time: confirmed for your travel date and hotel location
  • Sungai Koyan: scenic mountain route; Bharat Tea Plantation can be included; Habu BOH is available for an additional RM50
  • Simpang Pulai: less-winding alternative without the listed waterfall or tea plantation stops

We recommend the suitable route after checking your travel date and hotel location. Fewer bends do not guarantee a shorter journey or prevent car sickness.

Choosing your departure time

Departures can be arranged at different times of day, including early mornings, subject to advance confirmation and driver availability. During major public holidays, heavier traffic can increase the usual Tapah journey time to approximately 5 to 6 hours, so we recommend planning your departure carefully. Let us know your hotel arrival plans when enquiring, and we can suggest a practical pickup time based on the agreed route, expected traffic and planned stops. Arrival times cannot be guaranteed.

PICKUP & DROP-OFF

Pickup and your Cameron Highlands hotel

We collect you from the Kuala Lumpur hotel, residence or address agreed for your booking. Send the full pickup address and your Cameron Highlands accommodation name and address, rather than only the town name.

The fares shown on this page apply to drop-offs in the Cameron Highlands areas listed below.

Hotel areaWhat to check when booking
RingletRinglet is reached first on the Tapah approach. Tell us about any requested photo stops so we can check how they fit with your hotel drop-off.
Tanah RataA practical choice for travellers who want easier walking access to restaurants, shops and pharmacies. During busy weekends and public holidays, staying in Tanah Rata can also reduce the need for additional driving between towns. Provide your accommodation name and full address when booking.
Brinchang townSend the exact property address. A listing described as “Brinchang” may be outside the town area covered by this fare.

For Kea Farm or an address outside these areas, ask us to check the route and fare before booking. Pickups outside the agreed Kuala Lumpur coverage also need to be checked separately.

This private transfer suits couples, families and small groups travelling with luggage to stay in Cameron Highlands. It is not a shared shuttle, self-drive rental or full sightseeing day. For sightseeing with a same-day return, explore our day trips from Kuala Lumpur instead.

PHOTO STOPS & STOPOVERS

Photo stops and an optional tea plantation visit

The available photo stops depend on the road used for your journey from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands. They are part of your agreed transfer, not a full sightseeing itinerary.

Lata Iskandar Waterfall

Bharat Tea Plantation

Tea-covered hills at Bharat Tea Plantation, also known as Cameron Valley Tea, in Cameron Highlands.
Bharat Tea Plantation, a complimentary photo stop by arrangement via Tapah or Sungai Koyan.

The Bharat stop, also associated with Cameron Valley Tea, gives you a chance to pause for views of the tea-covered hills. The included arrangement is a short photo stop, not a plantation tour or an extended visit.

Habu BOH Tea Plantation (Paid Stopover)

Tea-covered valley at Habu BOH Tea Plantation in Cameron Highlands.
Habu BOH Tea Plantation, available as an optional RM50 stopover via Tapah or Sungai Koyan.

Habu BOH Tea Plantation is where BOH's story began in Cameron Highlands in 1929. Established by J. A. Russell and A. B. Milne, it is the oldest and largest of BOH's tea gardens, covering more than 465 hectares of rolling green hills and valleys. The estate is also home to BOH's first tea factory, built in the 1930s.

A visit here gives you the chance to enjoy the tea plantation scenery, take photographs and stretch your legs before continuing to your hotel. It can be particularly worthwhile if you are arriving before your room is ready, allowing you to spend some time exploring the surroundings rather than waiting at your accommodation.

The optional stopover costs an additional RM50 per private group and can be arranged on the journey from Kuala Lumpur via Tapah or Sungai Koyan. This brings the one-way transfer total to RM600 via Tapah or RM650 via Sungai Koyan. The visit must be agreed in advance and is not offered on Mondays. Any applicable admission charges, refreshments and personal purchases are separate, and a factory tour is not automatically included.
