Your Penang drop-off
Let us know whether you're staying in George Town or Batu Ferringhi, along with your hotel name or address. We'll plan the final part of the journey so you can travel directly to your accommodation.

A private transfer from Kuala Lumpur to Penang gives you the freedom to travel at your own pace, without planning your day around a train or flight timetable. Enjoy breakfast, check out of your Kuala Lumpur hotel and depart at an agreed time, travelling together with your luggage directly to your accommodation in George Town or Batu Ferringhi. It is a convenient choice for couples, families and small groups who prefer a relaxed, door-to-door journey.
You can also make the journey part of your holiday by arranging a sightseeing stop in Ipoh or Bukit Merah. This gives you an opportunity to explore another part of Malaysia without booking an additional overnight stay, while planning your arrival closer to your Penang hotel's afternoon check-in time, often around 3.00 pm. The direct transfer costs RM800 to George Town or RM850 to Batu Ferringhi per private group, including highway tolls and petrol.

Your journey from Kuala Lumpur to Penang mainly follows the North-South Expressway before crossing onto Penang Island and continuing to your hotel. George Town is on the northeastern side of the island, while Batu Ferringhi is farther along the northern coast, making the final drive slightly longer.
If you're planning to arrive around your hotel's afternoon check-in time, we can help you choose a suitable departure time from Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy a relaxed morning, take a break along the way or include a sightseeing stop. Traffic and weather can affect the journey, so arrival times are estimates rather than guarantees.
One of the memorable parts of travelling to Penang by road is crossing the sea between mainland Malaysia and Penang Island. The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge, commonly known as the Second Penang Bridge, stretches 24 km from Batu Kawan to Batu Maung, making it the longest bridge in Malaysia.
Penang has two road bridges, and your journey may take you across either one depending on where you're staying and traffic conditions.

Traffic can vary around Kuala Lumpur, along the North-South Expressway and when entering Penang Island. We'll help you plan a practical departure time, with room for rest breaks along the way. Allow extra travelling time during weekends and major public holidays.
Interested in exploring Ipoh Old Town or visiting Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island? You can make the drive part of your Malaysia holiday by including a stop along the way. It's an opportunity to discover another destination without necessarily spending an extra night there.
Journey time can be longer during Malaysian school holidays, long weekends and major public-holiday periods, since northbound traffic increases on the approach to Penang and Penang Island. If your travel date falls during one of these periods, allow more flexibility and check the Malaysian public holiday calendar before finalising your journey.

Recommended during very busy holiday periods
During major Malaysian public holidays and long weekends, travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Penang by road may not be the most practical option, especially if you need to arrive at a particular time. Heavy traffic on the North-South Expressway and the approaches to Penang Island can make journey times difficult to predict.
Travelling by ETS train or taking a flight to Penang may be a better alternative during these busy periods. The train arrives at Butterworth on the mainland, while flights arrive at Penang International Airport. Both options require an additional journey to reach your hotel, so consider the complete travel arrangements before deciding.
If you still prefer a private door-to-door transfer, please share your travel date and preferred arrival time when enquiring. We can discuss a suitable departure plan and whether the road journey is practical for your schedule. However, arrival times cannot be guaranteed during heavy holiday traffic.
Choose the right road endpoint
Both are approved public drop-off options on Penang Island, with different fares and normal journey times. George Town does not mean all of Penang Island, and the Batu Ferringhi fare does not apply elsewhere. Confirm your exact hotel or address when enquiring.

This transfer is suitable for a solo traveller, couple, family or small private group wanting agreed pickup in Kuala Lumpur and direct drop-off at accommodation in George Town or Batu Ferringhi. It is particularly useful when travelling with luggage or when you prefer not to change transport along the way.
The normal Toyota Innova arrangement is not suitable for every combination of passengers, large suitcases, strollers or mobility equipment. Please ask us to check if your group has unusual luggage or requirements. This is a point-to-point transfer, not an included Penang sightseeing tour.
A separate private transfer from Penang to Kuala Lumpur can be requested, subject to driver availability and an individual quotation. The fares on this page do not establish a return-trip price.
If Penang is one stop in a longer holiday, My Little Taxi can also assess a custom multi-day journey starting in Penang. An established planning pattern continues towards Cameron Highlands and Taman Negara before a final agreed destination. That is a different arrangement from this one-way Kuala Lumpur to Penang transfer and is quoted separately.
Yes. My Little Taxi currently offers private transfers from Kuala Lumpur to George Town and Batu Ferringhi by advance booking.
Availability for your specific travel date and pickup time must still be confirmed, since it depends on driver and vehicle availability, your passenger and luggage requirements, and your journey details.
Before confirmation, we need your travel date, preferred pickup time, exact addresses, passenger and luggage details, and any child seats or optional stops. For a Bukit Merah visit, we also need to plan around the separate boat trip and the sanctuary's visiting arrangements. Please tell us if your arrival in Penang needs to fit an important appointment or other plan.

Yes. Your journey from Kuala Lumpur to Penang doesn't have to be limited to the Ipoh and Bukit Merah stopovers shown on this page. You might prefer to spend more time exploring Ipoh, stay there overnight, or include Cameron Highlands in your Malaysia holiday. If you're interested in Cameron Highlands, we recommend allowing more time to enjoy the scenery, tea plantations and mountain towns rather than treating it as a quick stop on the way to Penang. Tell us the places you'd like to visit and how many days you have. We can help you plan a practical route and provide a separate quotation for your customised journey.
